AWARDS AND RECOGNITION FOR JASENOVAC MEMORIAL SITE

2008. The J. J. Strossmayer award for the best publishing project in the humanities field for the book List of Individual Victims of Jasenovac Concentration Camp 1941-45 by Đorđe Mihovilović and Jelka Smreka.

2007. Jasenovac Memorial Site received several awards for the project of the new permanent exhibition and Education Center:

• the international Carlo Scarpa award (Fondazione Benneton, Treviso, Italy) for the best planned memorial area in Europe in the year 2007;
• the Bernardo Bernardi award for the architectural design of the Jasenovac Memorial Site Memorial Museum to Helena Njirić, architect;
• the first award of the Salon of Architecture for the Museum interior of Jasenovac Memorial Site, to Helena Njirić, architect

2006. the director, Nataša Jovičić, received the Rockefeller foundation scholarship for research in the Bellagio Study Center, Italy, for the project of the new identity of the Jasenovac Memorial Site Memorial Museum and Education Center.
