Dear Visitors,
We are pleased to announce that on 25 June 2026 we will begin the complete reconstruction of the wooden pathway leading to the Flower Monument, one of the most significant infrastructure projects undertaken at the Jasenovac Memorial Site since its establishment.
An assessment of the existing structure has shown that the pathway's supporting framework no longer meets contemporary standards of safety, durability, and functionality. The new walkway will provide safer and improved access to the Memorial Site for all visitors, including school groups and persons with disabilities, in accordance with the European Accessibility Act.
This investment forms part of a broader process of modernizing the Jasenovac Memorial Site. Our goal is to improve conditions for visitors, strengthen our educational and commemorative programmes, and develop infrastructure that will support a lasting culture of remembrance for future generations.
For the safety of visitors, access to the Flower Monument and the outdoor areas of the Memorial Site will be temporarily closed during the reconstruction works, and guided tours of the outdoor locations will be suspended.
The Memorial Museum will remain open throughout the reconstruction according to its regular opening hours. Information about group visits and booking procedures is available in the Group Visits section of our website.
These is the first major reconstruction undertaken at the Jasenovac Memorial Site in sixty years. We thank you for your understanding and will inform the public in a timely manner about the reopening of the outdoor areas and the resumption of guided tours.
